Seattle police are investigating the latest in a string of gun violence incidents over the last 48 hours, after a man was shot in a Yesler Terrace homeless encampment Monday morning.

The victim was 39 years old, suffering multiple gunshot wounds — including one in his leg — following reports of shots fired in the 800 block of Yesler Way around 8:30 a.m. Monday.

The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center and is believed to have non-life-threatening injuries.

Police canvased residents of the encampment, but say they “were unable to find anyone willing to provide information to investigators.”

This makes six shootings in Seattle since Sunday morning, totaling at least 10 victims, four of whom were killed. That includes a Sunday evening shooting in Lake City, where a 28-year-old man was shot and killed after a vehicle drove by and opened fire in front of an apartment building in the 12700 block of 33rd Avenue Northeast.

Prior to that, three people were killed and five others injured in a series of shootings around Seattle’s downtown area early Sunday morning. Locations of the incidents spanned from Capitol Hill’s Cal Anderson Park to Pioneer Square’s Trinity Nightclub over a period of just a few hours.
