Seattle weather: It’s not so rainy afterall

Yes, it feels like it rains a lot in Seattle, but not this month.

The last time it rained (more than a trace) at Sea-Tac, where these records are officially kept, was on July 22. That’s 36 days, including Monday, of dry weather in the Emerald, soon to be olive, City.

So how does that rank? The National Weather Service says we’re in the 11th driest August on record and if it keeps up Tuesday, it’ll crack the top 10 at 37 days.

The record driest streak was 51 days set in Aug. 1951.

Keisha Burns at the KING-5 Weather Center says the forecast for the next week looks sunny and dry. Even after the holiday weekend, it appears there are no major weather systems headed our way for awhile.
