A 21-year-old Seattle woman who was hiking with her dogs near Snoqualmie Pass hasn’t been heard from since Monday morning, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Paula Reuter was with her two black and white dogs in the Mason Lake or Ira Spring trail area, where her car was found.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson says Reuter is a casual hiker.

“We think that Paula’s greatest obstacle to overcome right now is exposure because while the days are so beautiful in Seattle, unfortunately, in the evening, it really cools off,” said sheriff’s detective Jason Stanley.

“The best thing we can do is feet on the ground and conduct a thorough search. There are also going to be 4×4 volunteers searching all the roads.”

Search and rescue volunteers were notified about Reuter’s situation Tuesday evening. Crews began searching the area Wednesday morning.

Reuter, a restaurant manager, is described as being about 5’10” tall and weighing about 120 lbs. with brown hair.

Anyone who remembers seeing Reuters or her dogs hiking in the last three days is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 206-296-3311.
