See for yourself: Little snow in Washington this year

Apr 7, 2015, 11:57 AM | Updated: 12:15 pm

...

Ski resorts in Washington were open for just days and now the authorities are warning us about summer drought.

The Washington State Department of Ecology released a graphic (see above) Tuesday that compares the snowpack in 2013 with 2015.

The department said the state’s snowpack is below 50 percent of normal in 10 of 12 Washington river basins, and it’s still dropping.

Meanwhile, in California, the governor ordered sweeping, unprecedented measures on Wednesday to save water. His order requires cities and towns to cut water use by 25 percent.

Early last year, Gov. Brown called for a 20 percent voluntary cutback, but the state achieved just half of that.

KIRO Radio’s Dave Ross recommends taking shared showers. Or at least he’s singing about it.
