Seattle Police Department detectives are looking for a man who allegedly broke into the home of University of Washington students and assaulted a resident.

Officers received a call from the victim Sunday around 5:00 a.m. saying a man was inside their home at the 4700 block of 18th Avenue NE. When the police arrived, they reviewed security camera footage and identified the suspect.

KIRO 7′s Deedee Sun later interviewed the father of one of the victims, Ed Teders, who described the incident.

According to Teders, the shirtless man was first seen on video in the area around 2:00 a.m., but it wasn’t until 5:00 a.m. that he entered the home through an unlocked door.

He then went upstairs into Teder’s daughter’s room, and she woke up to find the shirtless man kneeling by her bed.

“The guy was standing in front of her on his knees. And she screamed, told him to get out,” said Teders. “He pulled out a gun, pointed it to her head, said, ‘I’m going to kill you.’ He told her to turn around and put her hands behind her back. And my daughter said he touched her briefly and disappeared, and that was it.”

Police searched the area, but were unable to locate the man. They are hoping that a member of the public will be able to recognize the man or have any information that might lead to his arrest.

“I hope someone recognizes him and gets him off the street,” Teders said. “It could’ve been much, much worse.”
