Suspect dead after officer involved shooting in Shoreline

One man was shot by a responding SWAT officer around 4:30 a.m in Shoreline on Thursday.
Officers were serving a warrant to a suspect located near 19028 16th Ave NE. Detectives believed the occupants were selling narcotics and were in possession of weapons.
“I heard two loud booms and lights and I assumed it was thunder. Then there was a rapid succession of what sounded like gunfire and I heard glass breaking and a woman screaming. When I came out to look there were police cars and paramilitary type trucks,” a neighbor told KIRO 7’s Michael Spears.
Police say officers were confronted by a 55-year-old man in a bedroom. He had armed himself with a handgun and refused to drop it. He moved the gun towards the officers and then was shot by three deputies. The man died from his injuries.
Other occupants inside the home were taken in for questioning.
No officers were injured. All three were placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard practice for officer involved shootings.
