The man stormed into Sky Motors around 8 p.m. Thursday and demanded a car. Two employees immediately escaped. A third was held hostage until deputies arrived. He was able to escape. No injuries were reported.
“You go to work in the afternoon, you don’t expect people are going to jump into your place and shove a gun into your face,” said Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor.
The sheriff’s office reported multiple shots fired at deputies between about 8 p.m. – 10 p.m. Pacific Avenue South was blocked off between 132nd and 138th and nearby Saars Marketplace was in lockdown with employees and customers inside.
