Snohomish County Animal Control Officers are trying to find the owner of a male Nigerian Dwarf goat.

The goat was found Tuesday in Stanwood on the 1900 block of 400th St. NW. A spokesperson for the Snohomish County Auditor’s office told MyNorthwest that the goat was found by a community member in the middle of the road, captured, and brought to an animal welfare center.

Animal control wants help in finding the goat’s owner

Animal Control is asking for the public’s help in locating the goat. They ask you to call (425) 388-3440 or email animalservices@snoco.org with any information.

The auditor said the agency has gotten a couple of calls about the goat, but has not found the owner. If the owner is not found, they said the goat will be re-homed at another welfare center.

The Oregon Zoo says the Nigerian Dwarf is originally from West Africa and can be found all over the world. The miniature has been domesticated as a dairy goat and is an herbivore.
