The Everett Police Department (EPD) released a report of a man with a warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle out of King County, alongside multiple domestic violence warrants out of Snohomish County, who was seen abandoning an unreported stolen van outside a Seattle residence last week.

Investigators said the suspect ran inside when he realized police were in the area.

Police saw a pistol in open view on the center console, and the vehicle was impounded for a warrant.

EPD said probable cause was developed for a new possession of a stolen vehicle charge and an unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree.

Last week, members of the Violent Crimes Reduction Unit (VCRU) were in the area of the residence when the male suspect left and went back into his home.

VCRU went into the residence to arrest the man on his warrants. While searching for the suspect, investigators said VCRU officers saw a pistol, parts of an AR-15-style rifle, and ammunition in various calibers in his bedroom.

The suspect was found in the bedroom in a hidden compartment and arrested.

A search warrant for the home was granted. During the search, the following items were recovered: Two shotguns (one sawed off and illegal), two pistols, two rifles in various stages of construction, a rifle suppressor, numerous rifle magazines and various types of ammunition, and stolen tools belonging to the owner of the stolen van.

Investigators said as a result of the search warrant, an additional five counts of unlawful possession of a firearm will be added to his charges.
