Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has announced a temporary closure of all westbound lanes of I-90 at Snoqualmie Pass. WSDOT maintenance crews will be out starting at 11 a.m. Wednesday to perform winter maintenance preparations.
The closure starts at milepost 52, which means the westbound on-ramp at exit 52 will also close. Eastbound lanes will remain open. Forest Development Road 58, also known as Denny Creek Road, will be closed between State Route 906 and Wagon Road Trailhead. WSDOT says due to weather, they will not provide a timeline for when the highway reopens.
The winter season unofficially begins at Snoqualmie Pass on Nov. 1st, when studded tires are once again legal. Traction tires or tire chains may be required depending on the latest weather conditions. Travelers driving over the pass are encouraged to check the latest conditions online or download the WSDOT app.
