State to set I-405 toll rates, HOV requirements Wednesday

We’ll find out Wednesday night how much it will cost and what passenger requirements are for driving in the new I-405 Express Toll Lanes between Lynnwood and Bellevue.
The state Transportation Commission is expected to approve variable rates of between 75 cents and $10 to drive in the lanes. A $2 surcharge for drivers without a Good to Go pass means that rate could be as high as $12.

The commission is also expected to increase the HOV lane requirement from two people per car during peak hours to three.
The express toll lanes will open later this year on the Bellevue-Lynnwood stretch of I-405.
