High-speed vehicle chases aren’t exactly an uncommon occurrence, but state troopers engaged in a far more peculiar kind of pursuit on Sunday, after apprehending a woman attempting to drive a golf cart into oncoming traffic on the freeway.

The incident was one that Trooper Rick Johnson described as a first in his 30 years on the job, beginning when a “female in distress tried to get on SR 167 the wrong way.” That had a trooper at the scene perform a maneuver with his vehicle to force the woman to turn the cart sideways, tipping it over before she could make her way onto the freeway.

The woman suffered minor injuries, and was taken to the hospital for “an involuntary evaluation.”

Washington State Patrol is still looking for the original owner of the golf cart.
