Police say a Tacoma man choked his two sons for being up past bedtime.
Neighbors called police when they heard yelling and fighting at the man’s home around 1:15 am.
“What they saw was two younger kids that were extremely upset and appeared to have some marks on them,” says Tacoma Police Department spokeswoman Loretta Cool.
Cool says the uncle of the two boys, aged 9 and 10, heard what sounded like the father beating the kids and burst into the room, and pulled the man off the boys.
“And that’s about the time the police arrived,” Cool says.
Officers used tasers to control their 32-year-old father, who was booked into jail for child assault and resisting arrest.
Five children-ages 1 to 10-were removed from the home.
