Teen arrested after West Seattle drive-by shootings

Apr 9, 2015, 12:15 PM | Updated: 2:28 pm

A 16-year-old boy arrested Thursday morning for pulling a gun on his family is also under investigation for a series of drive-by shootings in West Seattle.

Police say they received reports of gunfire in the 5400 block of Delridge Way SW around 8 p.m. Three more shootings were reported in the next four hours at 17th Ave SW and Delridge Way SW, 23 Ave SW and SW Findlay St, and Olson Pl SW and 4 Ave SW around midnight.

Police say a red four-door car pulled alongside another car and fired two shots striking the other car twice in the fourth shooting. No injuries were reported.

Two hours later, police arrested the teen during a domestic disturbance call in the 7700 block of 12th Avenue SW.

The boy reportedly pointed a gun at the head of one of his family members and pulled the trigger, but the gun was not loaded, according to police.

The gun matched the caliber of shell casings found at several of the shooting scenes in West Seattle, according to police. They also found a red Honda civic parked near the teen’s home.

The 16-year-old was booked into the King County Youth Service Center for investigation of domestic violence harassment. Detectives are still investigating the teen in connection with the four shootings.
