On Saturday, Boeing said it had reached a tentative agreement to avert a strike with Teamsters Local 174.

Last week, the workers voted to authorize a strike if a deal could not be reached before their contract ended at midnight on April 18.

In a release last week, it stated, “A strike would cripple Boeing operations throughout the Puget Sound area.”

Those workers are responsible for transporting aircraft engines, fuselages and other hazardous materials, according to a release from the union. Boeing said about 220 employees are represented by the union.

KIRO 7 TV reached out to the union on Saturday to confirm whether the tentative agreement means the strike is now off.
