Darren Dedo, KIRO Newsradio crime reporter, covers overnight crime in the Puget Sound region on the morning of July 5: A dispute leads to four shot in Tacoma, a drug bust prompts the arrest of 10, including three teens, and an alleged burglary leads to a homeowner killing one.

Tacoma neighborhood dispute leads to shooting

Four people were shot at the 3300 block of S Asotin Street in Tacoma on Sunday night after what police are calling a “neighborhood dispute.”

All four of the people were taken to the hospital, none were in critical condition and are expected to recover from their injuries.

Tacoma police searched the area for a suspect, but none was found.

The investigation is ongoing.

Dedo’s daily crime report: Hit and run with cop car, thief caught in sting operation

Seattle Police arrest 10 in drug bust, three are teens

While on patrol Downtown, SPD officers arrested a suspect after watching him deal drugs to multiple people on June 30. Upon arrest, police found a handgun with the serial number missing, 6 grams of meth, 500 grams of weed, and more than 80 fentanyl pills.

The suspect is 15 years old.

Three days later, July 2, officers conducted a sting operation on 3rd Ave and Pike Street police arrested two more teens, 14 and 16 years old.

Each had several pharmaceutical-grade opioid pills and a handgun.

Seven other adults were arrested during the operation and seized 64 grams of fentanyl, 20 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of heroin, and more than $1,100.

North Seattle alleged burglary shooting

At 2:35 a.m. police responded to a neighbor calling in a disturbance at the 900 block of N 101st St.

There they found a man in the backyard with a gunshot wound.

He was transferred to Harborview Medical Center but died of his injuries in the hospital.

The homeowner said that the victim has climbed his fence into his yard and had refused to leave.

So the homeowner shot him.

Detectives are still investigating to determine what happened.
