No charges are expected after a 3-year-old boy was hit by a car in Skyway Sunday night.

The boy darted between two cars and into the street, where the driver couldn’t avoid him. Drugs, alcohol and speed are not considered issues in this investigation.

The driver told police he didn’t see the boy until the last second and initially thought he had hit a cat, according to KIRO 7.

The boy is in serious condition at Harborview.
