Tolls go up Monday on the Tacoma Narrows and 520 bridges.
Over the Narrows, the Good-to-Go rate increases to $4.25, cash tolls to $5.25, and Pay-By-Mail to $6.25.
The Washington State Department of Transportation says tolling on the Tacoma Narrows bridge helps pay back construction bonds used to build the eastbound span, which opened in 2007.
Toll rates on the 520 bridge go up 2.5 % and continue to vary by time of day. WSDOT says this is the second of four 2.5 % increases expected for the 520 bridge through 2015, when the new bridge is expected to open.
While traffic volumes initially dropped when tolling began on 520 about 18 months ago, WSDOT says volumes are now almost 70 percent of pre-toll levels.
