‘Twin Peaks’ to return with nine new episodes on Showtime

Will North Bend once again transform into Twin Peaks?

Fans of the cult hit series “Twin Peaks” are rejoicing at word that the TV show, originally shot at locations near Snoqualmie and North Bend, will be returning for a nine-episode run.

The limited series release will air on Showtime beginning in 2016, marking the 25th anniversary of when the show originally concluded on ABC.

There is no official word yet on which cast members will be reprising their roles, but Deadline Hollywood reports there is rumor that Northwest native Kyle MacLachlan will return as FBI Agent Dale Cooper.

Showtime says original creators David Lynch and Mark Frost will write and produce all nine episodes, with Lynch directing.

According to IMDB.com, past filming locations include Snoqualmie Falls, Salish Lodge & Spa, North Bend, Snoqualmie, and 534 South Lewis Street in Monroe.
