Two dead after high speed car crash into Green River in Tukwila

Dec 28, 2012, 6:58 AM | Updated: 10:50 am

Two people are dead this morning after their car flew off the road in Tukwila and landed in the icy Green River.

Tukwila Police say witnesses called around 2 a.m. to report an Audi driving very fast

“The witness watched the car coming westbound here on 180th coming at a really high rate of speed,” police spokesman Mike Murphy told KING 5.

The car went straight off the roadway, up a ramp, and completely flew over the walk way and the entire embankment, according to Murphy. None of the brush was hit and the car landed directly in the water, still going at a very high rate of speed.

Murphy said when they pulled the car out of the water, they found two bodies inside.

Police aren’t sure if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
