Medics were called to a Seattle McDonald’s twice Thursday to treat several people and a cat, after a man who refused to leave was pepper sprayed in an altercation with an employee and a customer.

The man walked into the McDonald’s on First Hill early Thursday afternoon with a cat on a leash he called his service cat, but was told he couldn’t come in because he had previously caused trouble, a witness told police.

The man got into an argument with several employees, when a customer with pepper spray got involved.

Police they got into a scuffle and the pepper spray was released. The customer ended up getting a face full of his own spray and was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, according to Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore.

Medics were called back to the restaurant a little while later after others reported feeling effects from the lingering spray.

No one was arrested. The incident prompted the closure of Madison Street at Minor Avenue for some time early Thursday afternoon. The restaurant was closed as well for clean up.
