The Washington State Patrol says two people were killed in a collision Friday morning on Highway 410 at Sumner.

Trooper Guy Gill says a pick-up truck, passenger car, and a double dump truck were involved in the crash near 166th Avenue East.

Troopers say the pickup truck crossed a barrier and slammed head on into a car going traveling westbound. A dump truck full of gravel behind the car slammed rear ended both vehicles.

The drivers of the pick-up and passenger car were killed.

Troopers say it’s not clear why the truck crossed the barrier and if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

The investigation caused long traffic backups for the morning commute. Both westbound lanes and one eastbound lane were blocked.
