Coast Guard officials said Tuesday afternoon that an unexploded ordnance was floating in the water east of Brownsville Marina in Kitsap County. Crews gave the all clear at 8:20 p.m. and lifted an order to shelter-in-place and detonating the mine.

Officials said a safety zone was established and a temporary 1,500-yard safety zone was set as the object drifted south. A 5,000-foot temporary flight restriction was also established in the area around the unexploded ordnance.

Brownsville is located a few miles south of Naval Base Kitsap, Keyport’s torpedo testing range, the Associated Press reports.
