Mysterious ‘unknown sludge’ appears on I-90 in Seattle

It didn’t block traffic for long, but it wasn’t any less peculiar when an “unknown sludge” appeared on westbound I-90 just east of I-5 during the early part of Wednesday’s afternoon commute.

The Washington State Department of Transportation reported the mysterious sludge shortly before 3:15 p.m.

A lane of traffic was blocked as cleanup efforts began. At one point, four people were conscripted to clear what WSDOT dubbed on Twitter the #unknownsludge. Thankfully, the mysterious goo was mopped up in a tidy 30 minutes.
As of publishing, there’s no word as to where the unknown sludge came from. Also no word yet on whether the Ninja Turtles were present.
