The search is on for two men who smashed the windows of dozens of vehicles in Seattle’s South Lake Union early Friday morning.

Seattle police were called to the 2000 block of Westlake Avenue North just after 3 a.m. to reports of two men armed with a baseball bat and crowbar smashing windows in cars parked in a large lot.

The suspects hit at least 34 vehicles parked in the lot before fleeing in a white Trans Am. Investigators believe they also stole items from many of the vehicles.

A witness told police both suspects were carrying skateboards, and said one man was wearing a hat, grey sweatshirt and khaki pants. The second suspect was reportedly dressed in a black sweatshirt and baggy black shorts.

Police are trying to collect as much evidence as possible for investigators and hope to hear from victims to better document the damage and loss.

If your car was broken into during Friday morning’s incident, you’re asked to call 911 to make a report. You can also file a report through SPD’s Community Online Reporting Program if the damage and loss is less than $1,500.
