As the Ebola epidemic spreads across Africa, the fight is gaining some unlikely allies: Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson.

The Seahawks coach and quarterback appear in a new video urging people to join the campaign to raise money for treatment and research.

They’re far from alone. Microsoft co-founder and Seahawks owner Paul Allen has donated over $20 million to the effort, helping lead an informational and fund raising campaign called “Tackle Ebola.”

The money will be used to train health workers, assist government agencies and expand clinics and bed capacity in the the countries hit hardest by the epidemic.

Funds will also go to help control the spread of the disease and research.
