Washington Secretary of State Kim Wyman announced Tuesday that she has officially certified the state’s 2020 election results.

Wyman: Trump war against vote-by-mail ‘a dangerous path to go down’

Wyman beat the Dec. 3 deadline for certification by two days. Washington fell just half a percent short of the all-time record for voter turnout, with over 4.1 million people casting ballots, totaling an 84.1% turnout rate.

“Throughout this election season, voters were energized, engaged, and eager to make their voices heard,” Wyman said in a written release. “The nearly 4.2 million people who cast their ballots felt empowered to exercise their right to vote, and have a say in their future and the future of our country.”

This solidifies electoral victories for incumbents Governor Jay Inslee, Attorney General Bob Ferguson, and Superintendent Chris Reykdal, as well as Wyman’s own race for reelection.

Wisconsin and Arizona also recently certified their own election results Monday, effectively finalizing Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential race.

Opinion: Culp, Trump show a refusal to accept reality in both Washingtons

In the weeks following the November election, gubernatorial candidate Loren Culp has cast doubts on Washington’s electoral process, claiming that his campaign had “a lot of evidence of people receiving ballots who are not citizens,” as well as “evidence that dead people voted.” Despite threatening legal action, Culp has yet to produce the evidence to support his claims.

Wyman has repeatedly refuted those claims herself, while touting the state’s election system as one of the safest in the nation.
