Woman reports abduction attempt in Greenwood

Feb 11, 2013, 11:25 AM | Updated: 11:29 am

A woman told Seattle police she escaped an abduction attempt Sunday evening in Greenwood.

The incident reportedly occurred as she was walking home from the Fred Meyer at 85th at 3rd NW.

A white van approached her and she tells police a Hispanic man said, “Hi,” and got out of the van. He then got behind her and tried to force her into the vehicle. At this time she says he pulled a black ski mask over his face.

The woman says she was able to fight the man off and escape. The attacker then reportedly got back into the vehicle with another Hispanic man and the two drove off.

The victim says the van was white with “XYF” spray painted in red on the side.

Officers conducted a search for the suspects but did not locate them.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
