French electro mastermind Mr. Oizo aka Quentin Dupieux not only makes the freshest beats around town, and happens to be friends with a really hip puppet but he is also a film director. A film director who makes some of the quirkiest films ever made ever. Check the trailer for his 2007 film Steak and tell me you don’t agree…
If Steak is any kind of intriguing then you absolutely have to check out Quentin’s newest film Rubber,
which will be making its Seattle premiere April 8th-14th at the Northwest Film Forum. The film features music from Mr. Oizo and Gaspard Auge of Justice and is about a tire that kills. Yep. A tire that kills. Below is a bit about the film…
RUBBER is the story of Robert, an inanimate tire that has been abandoned in the desert, and suddenly and inexplicably comes to life. As Robert roams the bleak landscape, he discovers that he possesses terrifying telepathic powers that give him the ability to destroy anything he wishes without having to move. At first content to prey on small desert creatures and various discarded objects, his attention soon turns to humans.
