Spring delivers just in time: Sunshine and 60s ahead for Easter weekend

Easter weekend is here, and the weather is expected to involve a lot of spring sunshine and warmer temperatures.

In the wake of the recent wet weather system, higher pressure aloft is expected to build over the Pacific Northwest Friday through Monday, just in time for the holiday weekend.

Daytime temperatures are forecast to gradually warm through the weekend, peaking on Monday. Friday will involve emerging sunshine with highs in the mid-50s to near 60 degrees. Highs on Saturday are anticipated to warm into the lower 60s in many western Washington locations with plenty of sunshine.

By Easter Sunday, high temperatures are forecast to be well into the 60s with more sunshine. Monday should be the warmest day during this stretch of spring sunshine, with highs ranging from the mid-60s to the lower 70s in the usual warmer locations. Low temperatures will mainly be in the 40s through the weekend.

First sunny Easter weekend since 2024

The last Easter weekend to enjoy sunshine and mild temperatures was just two years ago in 2024, when Easter fell on March 31. High temperatures then nudged into the lower 60s.

High temperatures on Monday are expected to be the warmest of the year thus far. At Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), the last time it was that warm was back on October 7, when the high temperature reached 75 degrees.

This holiday weekend should be great for those Easter egg hunts, family gatherings, and many other activities.

The fine spring weather is expected to take a turn to cooler conditions starting Tuesday as the high pressure aloft moves inland, allowing onshore breezes from the Pacific to cool conditions. Much of next week should have highs in the 50s – close to average for early April.

Yet for Easter weekend, there will be plenty of sunshine and warmer spring-like temperatures. Enjoy!
