Kindness and generosity come naturally to kids. When some of us wrestle with whether to text in a $10 donation, kids rarely hesitate to help when they see someone in need.

Think about if you would part with one of your most prized possessions in order to help someone else. Who knows if there was any hesitation for 7-year-old Alex Ibarra, but ultimately he decided Puerto Rico needed help — and he had just the right thing.

His most prized possession is his signed jersey from Soccer professional Christian Pulisic. In an incredible act of kindness he explained in a video he posted online that he would raffle it off.

“I’m trying to raise money for Puerto Ricans that don’t have food and water. Puerto Rico is really important to me,” Alex said in the video, pointing out that the island is a U.S. Territory.

He teamed up with a non-profit in his hometown of Oakland and combined, with other auction prizes and raffles, raised $3,200. The money went to the Hispanic Federation Disaster Relief Fund.

Of course, kindness begets kindness and thanks to social media Pulisic found out about Alex’s generosity and returned the favor.

“What I’m going to do is give you a signed jersey,” Pulisic said in a video posted to USSoccer.com. “I’m also going to be making a donation. Thank you very much for what you’re doing and I hope it’s going to help the people in Puerto Rico.
