Dori: Island County prosecutor, King County judges bring bias to courtroom

Island County, despite the beauty of Whidbey and Camano, has become a radical Leftist enclave. The Island County prosecutor, Greg Banks, is a prime example of that ideology.

As KTTH’s Jason Rantz reported, Banks posted all over his social media accounts these vulgar, vicious smears against conservative voters. He had one post that suggested all Trump supporters are members of the KKK.

He had another post that called Trump voters “racist bullies with second-grade intellects and behavior disorders.” This is a government employee posting this publicly for his constituents to see.

This has become a growing problem in our country — radical prosecutors who use the law as a weapon against people with whom they disagree politically. We only have to look to our attorney general’s office for the biggest example of this. If you are one of the people being targeted by these biased politicians, it is a very scary thing to have to go up against a government prosecutor, because they have virtually unlimited tax dollars on their side.

How do you think Greg Banks will treat people when he has called all Trump voters KKK members? Do you think maybe he will be over-zealous in his prosecution of anyone who is not a Leftist? Do you think this is a guy who could fairly apply the law, regardless of the political ideology of anyone in his cross-hairs?

Dori: Why Bob Ferguson is the most dangerous politician I’ve encountered

Or, is he going to not enforce laws against Leftists, and not enforce laws that he personally doesn’t like? We’ve seen this in King County, where we have a radical prosecutor in Dan Satterberg, who has effectively allowed the use of drugs. As a result, we’re seeing the human waste that fills our streets and the crime that has skyrocketed. It’s all because of a prosecutor who has chosen not to enforce laws he doesn’t like.

It’s pretty scary when people who can destroy our lives with their power have declared they hate anyone who does not agree with them politically.

The Island County prosecutor has now apologized in an email to his staff, which I don’t believe a word of. I feel bad for the people who work with him. Again, he should not stay in the job. Ironically, if we had a state attorney general who was not himself a biased Leftist, he would go after prosecutors like this.

We’re seeing this kind of weaponizing of the justice system all over the place. Last week, we talked about King County Superior Court Judge Veronica Alicea-Galvan. She’s the one who let perhaps Seattle’s most famous prolific offender Travis Berge walk free, only to see him commit more crimes. She’s also the one who let one of the attackers who put a local musician in a wheelchair walk free. Why? She has declared on social media that she is “resistance in a robe.”

A couple of weeks ago, I was called to jury duty. If I were on jury duty in this judge’s courtroom, where she has declared that she will not apply the law uniformly, that she will use the power of the gavel to overcome what she sees as social bias … I would encourage jurors to do the same. Do not follow the law. Follow your heart. Do what the judge does.

This is the scary point we are at. We have judges and prosecutors who have decided that their social justice cause is so righteous that they do not need to follow the law.
