I’ve listened to you for years during the Seahawks pregame shows, but was not aware of your program on 97.3 FM. I was recently assigned a new truck at work, and the radio does not receive AM very well. I tuned over to 97.3 FM and heard your familiar voice and listened for a while. All I can say is, thank God my new truck doesn’t get AM very well!

You, sir, are a breath of fresh air! Your perspectives, commentary, subject matter, and sense of humor are outstanding. Now I look forward to noon every day. Thank you for what you do. Seattle is lucky to have you. Not only am I a fan, I’m also spreading the word.

I used to adamantly disagree with just about everything you had to say. Within the last year I went from a city desk job to a position in the private sector. With this new job, I am constantly driving through Queen Anne, Ballard, and Magnolia, as well as Beacon Hill and the SODO district. I have seen firsthand the homelessness epidemic spread across our communities. Once a die-hard Democrat, I now look through my windshield with apprehension and despair, wondering if this is the future I want. The RVs, tents, and garbage flowing in our streets is appalling. It doesn’t look like our city council is even trying to fix the problem. I am very discouraged and disappointed. I have listened to you for years and finally get it now. Thank you for letting me see the light. Keep “keeping them honest!”

Dori thinks Trump was a better President than Obama? That is it — no more Dori. Trump can’t even compare to Obama as far as class and grace. Not even on the same planet. So go have your love-fest with the worst President ever. I will NEVER listen to your talk show again. You also think you are always right. Even though it sounds like you were a gifted student, that doesn’t mean you are the smartest person in the room, which you obviously think. You always come across thinking that you are ALWAYS right. Can you ever admit you might be wrong when listening to an opposing view? You never give the opposition the benefit of the doubt. You are always waiting to pounce on them with some off-the-wall comment. I bet you can’t even admit it when you are wrong. I am done with you, and I am sure others are too.

The cookie heard ’round the world

What kind of person is triggered over a cookie? 

If this woman has such a weak psyche that she reacts this way to words on a cookie, then I believe she should lock herself away from the world, and if she has kids, please take them away … they are in danger of being ‘dumbed down’ to the level of a carrot. I can’t imagine what her reaction would be to the knowledge of the treatment that the women and children are experiencing in the caravans heading north. Legal immigration …what a concept. The Left/Progressives/Democrats histrionics scale has gone beyond the stratosphere. This would not happen if the traditional media had journalistic integrity and actually reported the ‘in-depths’ and all sides of a story.

No matter your politics, the uproar is ridiculous

I abhor Donald Trump and the havoc he’s reaped in this country and abroad; however, I support this baker and his business. I believe the cookie was created in fun and he intended no political endorsement or support. Pretty disheartening that we’ve come to this point.

Does that refer to the objectification of women as property to be owned … or is this a sinister message calling for the return of slavery?

Why did Sam choose Zimbabwe?

It’s a non-issue

I think the Zimbabwe name change is a non-issue. I have a patient who, after getting married, changed his last name, as did his wife, to a completely different last name, something that was from a movie that they both really liked. Perhaps this couple just really liked the name of the country. I know you want to believe that there is something deeper, but I think this time you’re wrong.

Regarding Dori’s bogus speculation about illegals from Russia or Central America bringing in measles – they have equivalent (or higher) rates than the U.S. Here are the worldwide immunization rates for measles from the World Bank:

Russia: 98 percent

United States: 92 percent (2010); 92 (2011); 92 (2012); 91 (2013)

Mexico: 95 (2010); 98 (2011); 99 (2012); 89 (2013)

El Salvador: 92 (2010); 89 (2011); 93 (2012); 94 (2013)

If you’re pro-data, then read gun violence data

I completely agree that gathering information is a good thing. The more we know, the better able we are to find appropriate solutions. It’s not the information that’s bad. The problem instead is about two things — 1) how the information is gathered, and 2) what is done with that information. Both sides of the aisle are guilty of hypocrisy here. The Left refusing to look at [immigration] data that could potentially show a cause/effect or a strong correlation is ridiculous. It’s especially hypocritical given the uproar about disallowing the CDC to investigate gun violence. The argument that the Left makes in that regard are centered around the value of gathering knowledge. The Right is equally hypocritical on that same issue — gun violence. If Mr. Monson is correct about needing as much information as possible to make informed decisions, then why the flat-out refusal to support research on the topic by the CDC?
