While law enforcement officials search for three people involved in two separate violent mid-day attacks – one at a Kent parking lot and the other at a Madison Valley business – police are seeking the public’s help locating the suspects.

David Rose, co-anchor of FOX 13 Seattle’s nightly news and host of The Spotlight, told Dori Monson Show listeners why it’s important for the community to “lean in on this stuff.”

By drawing attention to these cases, Rose told Dori, it shows “what we can do as citizens and not let criminals get away with this.”

One of the attacks Rose and Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound highlight involves a June 20 case in Kent at the 1000 block of Central Avenue. Despite two separate videos of the suspects and the assault, detectives have been unable to locate these two attackers.

It began when Kimberli Johnson, a local catering business owner, was trying to leave a parking lot in her rented U-Haul truck. When Johnson tried to get around two suspects blocking traffic in their black Infiniti G-series coupe, one male and one female suspect brutally beat Johnson and stole her cell phone. Johnson’s injuries have left her struggling with memory loss and hearing.

The two suspects in that case fled in their car. Images show the vehicle’s tires have all-black rims, an aftermarket front bumper and headlights, and a heart sticker on the front windshield.

In the second case, a prolific offender attempted to rape a Madison Valley business owner and is still on the loose. The Dori Monson Show interviewed the victim in that case earlier this month.

The suspect in that case, Jordan Alexander, 33, is known to wear disguises and wigs to hide his identity – in one case applying light-colored makeup to appear as a white woman, according to officials.

Alexander has a “rap sheet longer than my arm,” Dori told listeners. Despite a 43-month sentence in 2021, Alexander was out on work release near Harborview Medical Center at the time of the Madison Valley assault.

“There’s this mania to let violent criminals go as easily as possible. That’s another huge contributor to our crime problem,” Dori said about the incident.

Rose, who follows these and other violent crime cases in western Washington, agrees: “We need to bring the pendulum back so normal people can feel safe.”
