I’m about to say something that freaks a lot of people out

Too many people in the United States of America vote. It freaks a lot of people out when I say that. But you likely know some of the people who should not vote. I would give my life for people’s right to vote. But not everyone should.

We are seeing for the first time ever, two major party candidates running for office that people from both sides overwhelmingly say would not make good a president.

But the people who are going to decide who is president are the people who should not vote; the low information voter. And it may be as small as two million people. Traditionally, there are red states and blue states who cancel each other out. So you are left with the swing states. And that’s where this small group of 2 million can decide the election. And these are the people who pay the least amount of attention to politics.

If you’re reading this, you are not a swing voter. These people don’t follow the news — they are entertainment consumers. And Trump gets this; he gives people a show. He can be entertaining. And the swing voter wants to be entertained.

Obama was the first celebrity president. He was marketed like a singer, all “brand.” And the magic of “politics as entertainment,” is that you can just skim the surface of an issue and feel like you’re well informed, info-sipping.

If you don’t really know the issues, don’t vote. I’m not trying to be rude; I’m trying to save the country.
