Jada meets Red: Ron and Don effort helps 8-year-old girl

May 6, 2016, 5:57 PM

KIRO Radio’s Ron and Don helped Jada Holloway raise enough money to purchase a service dog, and now that effort is paying off. Not to mention, it’s also produced a new friend.

Jada had visited with KIRO Radio’s Ron and Don previously in the KIRO Radio studio. She lives in Olympia and suffers from a series of health issues.

With the more than $20,000 dollars raised online, Jada recently went to Brigadoon Service Dogs where she met a collie doodle named Red. The two hit it off.

Red is going to spend two weeks with Jada at her home to see if the two work well together, and if Red will get along with the other family pets. If that works out, then Jada will spend more time in Bellingham training with Red.

No word yet if Jada will rename Red — her top name for her new service dog has been split between T-bone or Princess Peanut Butter.
