Marriage advice, new research on affairs

Jul 15, 2011, 6:59 PM | Updated: 8:25 pm

During the week I’m the morning news anchor on 97.3 KIRO FM. On the weekend News Chick radio show, I explore topics that don’t fit neatly into a news box.

CheatThis weekend (Saturday 8 a.m. and Sunday 4 p.m.) I’ll discuss affairs with the number of women who cheat on the rise, and I’ll pass along marriage advice people emailed me after reading the story “Online dating site founder says don’t get married.”

My Twitter follower of the week is @1000Girlfriends. They have nothing to do with the topic of affairs. Kathy Scott founded the site Me and My 1,000 Girlfriends, That’s Who! “Need a name, a contact, have an issue, want to start a letter writing campaign, need a few of your friends to send emails on your behalf? Ask your 1,000 Girlfriends to help. There is power in numbers and there is more power in 1,000 women!”

Finally, a follow up from last weekend’s show. I interviewed a Seattle documentary filmmaker who wants to find out who the people are behind cardboard signs begging for cash or food. Matt Longmire needed about $6,000 to fully fund the multi-media project, and he’d raised about $2,000. A listener heard the interview and donated the remainder of the funds. The project will happen, and he’ll report back to us in the fall with what he’s discovered about Seattle’s homeless and those who stand on a corner and beg for money.

Thanks for listening. Have a great weekend!
