shower thoughts...

Despite what you’ll hear a million times this month, it takes at least 66 days to form a new habit. That other number is an urban myth.

Heat

Why is my baseboard heater making so much noise at night? Keep me warm and let me sleep!

Baseball

Hey Mariners, how does it feel to replace the Buffalo Bills as the poster child for post season futility in all of professional sports? Just so we’re clear, making the playoffs means you are in the top third of the league. So we’re just asking you to stop getting D’s for the past 17 years.

Trump

My resolution to not give President Trump more of my energy than he deserves lasted all of the three days. What is this guy’s deal? For real.

Health

For the love of god, stop coughing into your hand. That’s not helping anyone. Cough into the crook of your elbow you animal.

What’s the maximum pieces of bacon you can have at one sitting before it’s unreasonable? Is four and a half a lot?

Trump again

OK, back to Trump for one more second. My head is telling me not to read this new “Fire and Fury” book, but it looks like a real page turner. I don’t think I’ll be able to resist.

Driving

If I can just reach one rideshare driver out there, then this is worth it: The bike lane is not really a long parking space! Find a curb, be decisive, and pull the freak over. It’s totally amateur hour out there.

And I know I should have compassion on the grandma driving her Champagne-colored 1987 Honda Civic in the left lane, but come on! You have to notice the cars just flying by you. If you can’t confidently and comfortably drive on the freeway, maybe it’s time to just stop driving.

The weather

And finally, whoever came up with the phrase “Bomb Cyclone” to describe a winter storm should get a raise. That’s exactly how it feels to be really, really cold.

Just one more minute with the water cranked all the way up. And if you don’t have a shower speaker yet, you should really get one.

You can hear “What are we talking about here?” everyday at 4:45 p.m. on 97.3 FM.

The US and Canada could pull back from an all-out trade war. It’s not clear that they will

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. and Canada have ramped up their trade war, hitting each other with steep new tit-for-tat tariffs. Despite the bravado coming from both sides of the border, though, analysts suspect the longtime allies will eventually strike a deal to end a conflict neither really wants. The prospects for compromise looked bleak […]

Former detective says Tupac murder suspect was gang ‘shot caller’ who had final say in shooting

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A former Compton gang detective testified Tuesday that Duane “Keffe D” Davis was a high-ranking “shot caller” whose authority meant younger gang members would not have opened fire on Tupac Shakur with Davis present unless he allowed it. Here’s all the ways that data center controversies have transformed the midterm elections

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — The snowballing opposition to data centers in communities across the United States has transformed the midterm election landscape, thrown a wrench into the plans of the world’s richest companies and brought perhaps the industry’s biggest booster, President Donald Trump, to its defense. It’s a dramatic shift from two years ago, when […]
