Howard Dean and the Democrats don’t own ‘justice’
Nov 17, 2016, 4:09 PM
Howard Dean made a very strange connection between the election of Donald Trump and the Kent State shootings. Now, Donald Trump did not go to a college campus and kill four people, he won a fair election.
These overwrought comparisons contain the accusations of “no justice.” And the assumption is that people like Dean are the gatekeepers.
The Left helped build an imperial presidency for Trump
Dean talks about how young people now get what they want by going online and signing petitions. But the Democratic Party is blocking that very kind of change in substantive issues like health care. You are either going to buy insurance or we’re going to crush you.
This assumption that justice for young people is a continuation of the legacy of people like Dean or Hillary Clinton acting as gatekeepers is bothersome. There is the persistent notion that there has been an absence of justice in America. And that Donald Trump winning an election fair and square is not justified.
But the Left does not own the concept of justice.
