The moment I was waiting for from Donald Trump … and not in a good way

The moment I’ve been waiting for from Donald Trump has arrived. This isn’t what I hoped to see, but it is what I expected to see. I am very concerned about his decision to engage in the discussion involving the terrorist watch list and gun bans.
Trump said he is going to go to the NRA to discuss the banning of certain people from buying certain weapons because they are on a government list. If you’re on the terrorist watch list, should you not be allowed to purchase a weapon?
I don’t think you’re going to stop evil doers. Would confiscating all guns make the world safer?
The reason I’m concerned with Trump’s statements is that I see no evidence that Trump understands due process or understand the Bill of Rights. He doesn’t seem to operate from any core principles or ideology.
Everyone thinks terrorists should be prevented from getting guns. But the devil is in the details.
And there have been many innocent Americans put on the Terrorist Watch List. A United States citizen does not ever need to ask permission from your betters to have access to your Bill of Rights. And you don’t ever have to ask your government, “may I speak.”
