Todd Herman makes another argument for Trump (even though he’ll never vote for him)

I now feel extremely well informed about Donald Trump. But I’m going to make an argument for Republicans unifying behind him; because it is always good to test your own assumptions. And I don’t find anyone impressed with how Republicans in this state are making the argument for the Donald.

Washingon D.C. as an institution is ruling us; it is not governing. And D.C. has become owned and operated by pay-to-play practitioners. The GOP candidate has been one of those practitioners. Trump says it’s because he was a private business person. But there have been plenty of business people who haven’t had to do that.

Donald Trump has a choice before him: If he makes it into the White House, he can be seen as the great snake-oil salesman who lied his way into the office and only went to D.C. for his own gain. Or he can be seen as someone who went in and changed things.

Obviously, this is a man who cares about his own legacy and he cares about the “brand Trump.” Trump has had many business failures. I’m not sure what he’s learned from them, other than that he’s learned how to make a comeback. But there’s no comeback when you serve as President. There are no do-overs. And there’s no place to hide debt through LLC’s and shell corporations.

I hope he’ll make the right choice. And I think he will. But we need to think very seriously about the choice we’re making in November.
