Why would the Russians need an American liaison?

It’s difficult to hear about the possibility of Trump’s digital operation helping guide Russia’s voter targeting and fake news attacks against Hillary Clinton. There have been named officials speaking on the record this time around.

This report on first reading is fairly damning. But on further analysis things get a little more complicated.

No one would need to tell the Russian Intelligence Services who to target. They would already know.

I owned a company that could identify voters who needed to be targeted by the Republican National Committee. We knew through social media who would respond to political targeting. And the Russians would know how to do it as well. Why would they need an American to help them target?

Americans involve themselves in other countries’ elections in the same way that the Russians are being accused of messing with ours.

But, that said, if someone like Jared Kushner gave voter information to the Russians, the Trump administration is in real trouble. The question is, why, would the Russians need someone like Jared Kushner?

And did it occur to anyone that Jared Kushner is a big time, liberal Democrat?
