It’s a battle between a Seattle woman and feminists who worked under the cover of night.

If you have driven on I-5 through Seattle’s Ravenna/Roosevelt neighborhood, you have likely seen the two-story tall mural of pin-up icon Bettie Page painted on the side of a house facing the freeway. That mural was recently defaced.

“A bunch of self-described feminists threw paint all over it,” KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson said. “They said, ‘Stop exploiting women’s bodies.'”

There have been attempts to scrape the paint off and restore the mural, but so far, no success.

And it turns out the person living in the house, a woman herself, was not pleased with the vandalism or the message, calling it “wrong.”

Jessica Baxter, who also describes herself as a feminist, told KOMO News that “autonomous sexuality is empowerment and telling women to cover themselves up is oppression.”

But for Dori, it’s just another byproduct of Seattle’s left-leaning mentality.

“This is where we are at. This is a consequence of giving into the leftist mentality in Seattle,” Dori said. “I don’t agree with you, so I’m going to throw paint on your house. It’s a great place in which we live, as long as you think the way they think you should think.”
