Video: Metrodome roof collapse

While we slogged our way through a rainy weekend in the Northwest, the Midwest had snow.

In Minneapolis, Minnesota the roof of the Metrodome collapsed under the weight of the snow.

Amazing video from inside the dome as it was breaking and sagging.

The same thing happened in 1994 to the UNI Dome at the University of Northern Iowa, where I went to college. They now have a metal roof on their stadium. Why build an air-supported, fabric-roof stadium in places where snow has been known to accumulate? Fortunately, no one was hurt.
