State Rep. Dave Hayes has come up with a unique way of getting press and campaign donations – he’ll let you tase him.
On May 24, some campaign donors will get to watch the state representative from the 10th Legislative District get hit with a stun gun, and one lucky donor may get to pull the trigger.

The news brought back memories for KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson who allowed himself to be tased “for science” years ago when stun guns were getting more attention. Dori thought there was no record, but one loyal listener had the stunning experience on video and sent it in.
“Why didn’t I raise money when I got myself tased years ago?’ Dori asked. “I did so many things for ratings early on.”
“I vividly remember what that felt like,” he said. “I had one connected on my lower left back and one on my upper right shoulder area, and you felt the current traveling between those two points. And the pain – oh Lord the pain.”
Show producer Nicole Thompson would like Dori to do the stun gun stunt on air again – but she wants to pull the trigger.
