The Mariners aren’t doing great, should we be booing our own team?

Jun 29, 2023, 4:21 PM | Updated: 4:53 pm

Seattle Mariners fans had high expectations in 2023 following last season’s ALDS loss to the Houston Astros — the 3-0 series sweep was decided by four runs — which have quickly soured by June. The M’s are 38-41, the fifth-worst record in the AL, and just came off two devastating losses to the 32-win Washington Nationals, but is it ever ok to boo your own team?

Travis Mayfield joined KIRO host Gee Scott on The Gee & Ursula Show with producers Andrew Lanier, Joe Wallace, and board operator Nick Cresia to discuss the disappointment in Seattle baseball this year, despite the All-Star Game taking place at T-Mobile Park in less than two weeks.

Seattle MLB All-Star Game ‘Clean-up’ not without controversy

“Don’t boo? Don’t boo? What are you supposed to do as a fan?” Lanier asked. “You’re only allowed to cheer when good things happen and then sit on your hands when bad things happened?”
