KCSO asks for help identifying person of interest in rape case

Apr 2, 2019, 7:12 PM | Updated: 7:17 pm

Investigators with the King County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help identifying a person of interest in a rape case. A man reportedly pretended to be a woman’s rideshire driver before assaulting her.

The incident occurred on December 16, 2018. At around 12:15 a.m., a woman’s friend ordered her a rideshare to take her home from a bar in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood (5100 block of Ballard Avenue NW). A man in a black vehicle, possibly a Dodge Charger, pulled up and misled the woman into believing he was her rideshare driver.

The woman reports that the man pulled the car over and raped her in the 11400 block of 5th Avenue South in White Center.

Investigators have not been able to identify a suspect, or associate the man with any rideshare company. Surveillance video captured a person of interest near the woman’s home, however.

The man is described as Hispanic and spoke with an accent.

The King County Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone with information about the person of interest to call 206-296-3311.
