I’ve been scolded by Trump supporters for quoting Trump because, as it turns out, he sometimes doesn’t really mean it. So to quote him is unfair.
Let’s make a deal on health care and immigration
But even with that in mind, this latest immigration Tweet seems very clear, and is even correctly spelled.
So, with that trigger warning, I am going to quote a recent Tweet which says:
Next week ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States. They will be removed as fast as they come in.
Now, this seems to go against his own rule on not tipping off immigrants to ICE raids, which the mayor of Oakland did last year, prompting the president to suspect her of obstruction of justice.
“You talk about obstruction of justice, I would recommend that you look into obstruction of justice for the mayor of Oakland California,” Trump noted at the time.
How not to be a traitor to the United States of America
So, the Tweet might just be a mistake, but, there is also a chance it’s real. And if it is, and if government agents are about to round up millions of people, well, it being a government operation, there is a chance somebody will knock on the wrong door and try to remove the wrong people.
You might want to post a facsimile of your passport on your door over the weekend, and enlarge it so it can be easily seen by officers with flashlights approaching your house before dawn. Just in case.
