Have you been following the chicken sandwich wars?
Last week, Popeye’s Tweeted about its new chicken sandwich; so of course Chik-Fil-A counter-Tweeted, and then Wendy’s called them both out. Pretty soon ordinary people started tweeting their own post-sandwich videos.
Ross: Instead of Greenland, how about we buy the Amazon?
A guy in one video actually seemed to have had an out-of-body experience.
“I was crying and my sweat and my tears taste like chicken,” he exclaimed.
Now this could have been staged — I wouldn’t put it past the Russians to branch out and try to manipulate our sandwich choices. But the level of sincerity here is undeniable.
That video has close to five million views now, and I will admit, it makes me want chicken.
That’s the whole problem. Food today is far too delicious, which makes you want it all the time. And it’s all so healthy – organic, sustainable, non-GMO – that you figure you can eat as much as you want without any consequences.
But, we forget that even sustainable organic food from happy chickens will make you fat if you eat too much. Of course you’ll be too busy hallucinating to notice.
