Boiling point: Who towed garbage-filled RV to council member’s house?

UPDATE: The Dori Monson Show may have found out who towed the RV, but additional fact-checking is required before the tip can be confirmed. Tune into the show at noon on Thursday to find out the latest.

Things are getting fast and furious in Seattle. My show prep blew up Wednesday morning when a Seattle Times reporter called our news desk and informed us that last night someone towed an RV in front of Seattle City Councilmember Lisa Herbold’s house.

KIRO Radio Reporter Carolyn Ossorio went to the scene in West Seattle and observed that the RV was uninhabitable and filled with garbage, emitting an odor.

“It’s the perfect vehicle for somebody who is wanting to prove a point,” she told us.

A listener — not the person who towed the RV — has even spray-painted “DORI 4 GOV” and “LISTEN TO DORI NOON 97.3” on the RV. We do not condone or encourage the destruction of private property … but I must admit, it was quite funny.

You may recall, on Monday I spoke with former council candidate Ari Hoffman, who had threatened to have a friend with an RV tow the derelict RVs in front of the Bikur Cholim Cemetery to Seattle council members’ homes if the city did nothing about them. He asked me if I wanted to be a part of it. I opted out for liability reasons; I could not live with myself if a homeless person got into the RV and harmed a council member or one of their neighbors.

Dori: Was Councilmember Sally Bagshaw’s stolen bike more important than my daughter’s?

Then Ari had another idea — what if we got RVs, but didn’t open them up? They could remain locked so no one could get in, and simply sit there as billboards to demonstrate what the council members have done to this city.

I seriously doubt that Ari is involved with this case because this is the holiest Jewish day, Yom Kippur. When we talked to Ari on Tuesday, he said he would be out of touch all day Wednesday for the holiday.

Was it one of my listeners? I have no idea. But if it is, what a great example of how you do things versus how the Left does things. What does the Left do? They lie in the streets and block traffic for hours, gridlocking the region. They use children as their human shields. They riot and throw bricks through windows. Whereas this person has parked an RV in front of someone’s house … and is now done. If you don’t want to be bothered by this form of protest, it doesn’t have to bother you at all. It doesn’t invoke your children. It doesn’t stop traffic. It’s not violent. It doesn’t involve you one bit.

I had nothing to do with this. But am I enjoying it immensely? Yes, I am. I can’t hide that. This is what has been happening around the city. This is the nightmare with which residents have been living.

Carolyn said that the scene is filling up as people fed up with Seattle leadership are rushing over to see the RV for themselves. Drivers are honking and waving in support of the protest move as they pass by. Carolyn told us that not a single person who has come by has expressed disapproval.

“I’ve had [neighbors] say, ‘We want this in our neighborhood right now, because we want the spotlight to be shown on this issue,'” she said, adding, “People are excited to be here — it’s like a tourist attraction.”

You see, there is something much greater at play here. And that is that people have had it. We finally seem to have reached the boiling point. We are sick and tired of the drugs, the crime, and the absolute mess that our region has become. Now it looks like there will be some serious citizen revolting going on. Perhaps this day will mark the pendulum starting to come back a little bit. I do hope that today becomes a symbol that we have all had it.

These council members don’t care if an RV is in front of your business. They don’t care if it is in front of your home. They don’t care if it is in front of the apartments you are trying to rent out. They don’t care if it is in front of your development project, and you can’t sell your new building because of it.

The council has trashed the beautiful city I grew up in, and reduced it to being a haven for heroin addicts and meth-heads. Think about what that has meant to all of these businesses that are victims of crime on a daily basis, to all of the homeowners whose homes are broken into.

Now at least one person has said that enough is enough.

If you were involved in towing the RV to Lisa Herbold’s house, I’d like you to text me at 98973. We will put you on the air. As a screening measure, you will be asked to describe what kind of truck you used in the text.

The Dori Monson Show will update this story as more information becomes available.
